Andy, is that the one you had in your shop a few years back? You said you were working on it for a friend of yours. As I recall it was a white '58 300 with a (of course) 392.

    Regardless, VERY nice!

Different one here, I was amazed at how he used old fuel injection parts and made work with modern components hidden and made it look so tidy.

From what I understand, that 300D is owned by a fella that works as a mechanic/machinist full time for Jay Leno.

This is from a member on FCBO concerning that 300D

I believe Jay Leno's chief paint and body guy, Per Blixt, owns that 300D, or one just like it. It appears to have a working Electrojector fuel system, or at least a newer style one maybe adapted to run the engine (as best I know there is only one original Electrojector system (and it too has some updated parts on it) that is operational, and that is on a 1958 Desoto Adventurer convertible - a brilliant restoration. I don't recall seeing that system at past shows if it is indeed Per's car.

Here's the link to the discussion on FCBO. Pics of the 300D start on post #2, and then on post #12 another member chimes in about the owner.

    Good morning folks :D
How are all you Mopar Maniacs doing today! Banana_Yesss
Thats an amazing 300 irregardless of ownership. The 300 has always been one of my favorites for sure. Always out of my league as well unfortunately :(

I had the truck out the other day. It's the first time it's been out of the garage in months, so I took it out for a shakedown spin. It was nice day here in northern NH, so I put over 100 miles on it just driving around stopping here and there, running errands, visiting folks, etc. The old diesel ran flawlessly the entire time.Thumbs_Up
All in all, a really nice day out of the house, for both of us.

Oh... dang... that reminds me... (and I wish I still had photos) But I did a boat back in the 80’s and set it up with one of my old 331 hemi’s. It was an old Cole boat with. V-Drive. My buddy took it to Oregon to play with. Good memories.!!!

More to be gained once it's all fixed up and back together.;)
The worst part of that job is the dang exhaust manifolds... getting them off that is.

Very true Mike.... Should run a little better... :)
Cylinders all looked good, Not much of a ridge to speak of. Compression was Good 150-145 PSI..
Long story short. What brought this on was I noticed a drop in fuel mileage. Normal for me is around 14/MPG.. The Drop had moved down to 9-1/2 to 10-1/2 MPG.. and oil consumption issue in the numbers 3 & 5 cylinders. At first I just chalked it up to some bad valve stem seals. (Rite / Not My Luck).
So I'm limping the truck around, getting parts together, and all of a sudden I hear a squeaking noise under the hood? (Like a bad water pump bearing)
Well come to find out (Get this) is was a squeak at the Harmonic Dampner !!!!!! WTF !!!!!
So I turn the truck off... Scratch my head.... Ok, Scratch it some more !!! WTF !!!! And Now I'm Laughing !!!! WTF....
Restart the truck... Wait about 3 minutes.... Truck is still missing, And then this Squeak comes back!!!! and again WTF !!!
So I reach over and pull the PCV, and a huge vacuum sound happens, and the squeak goes away !!!!! Auh-Haa !!!!
Intake gasket let go... I can fix that this weekend.. (Ya)....
After removing the intake, Cleaned everything, Gave it a crank to check all the lobes on the cam and to look for a worn rocker arm. That all looked good, But I noticed that the #5 cylinder Intake port was puffing at me? WTF.... OK, Now we have a Valve train issue,
Blown intake gasket and the #5 intake is puffing at me when cranking.... So pulled the heads and sent them to the JMS machine shop here in El Monte SO-CAL Should get them back if all goes well this Monday of Tuesday. So we can put it back together next weekend.
So thats the story at the moment.. If you notice it is a Magnum Block and it has LA heads on it....:)
